01
A result report is different evidence from an approval.
How approved work actually ended is learned from later reports. Work across several targets may finish for some, fail for others, and leave others with no known result.
RAIFFA treats these reports as new evidence, separate from the approval record. It keeps apart what was confirmed, what was confirmed as failed, and what is still unconfirmed.
02
Unconfirmed is not recorded as failed.
Not knowing a result does not mean it failed. Recording unconfirmed as failed can lead to a decision to redo finished work; recording it as complete loses the work that remains.
RAIFFA keeps unconfirmed as unconfirmed and marks the evidence needed to settle it.
03
Lay the options for the next decision side by side.
What to do with the remaining work is a new decision. Confirming the unknown results first, repeating only what is confirmed as failed, or changing the scope are set out as options, each with its assumptions.
RAIFFA does not rank the options and does not order a retry. The next decision a person makes becomes a new approval record.
